When The Customers Get "Too Smart"

This happened a few days ago. There's this paper cutter that occasionally used to cut papers of any kind. 2 customers came and asked for something to be done. So I had to use this paper cutter to get the job done cos it has something to do with papers. After I was busy with things around the desk, I realized that I needed to clear the desk by putting the paper cutter away. I MUST make sure that the iron cutter is locked so I just pushed down the blade and guess what? They laughed!! Because I just accidentally cut some money. Whatttt????

They laughed like crazy leaving me puzzled. My jaw dropped as I looked at the money, almost cut into two. "Why did you put the money there?" While not done with laughing yet, one of the said, "I thought you could not miss seeing the money, that's why I put it there." "No, how can I possibly expect anything like money was there knowing that everyone knows this is a paper cutter, and I just used this a while ago." I continued, still puzzled and shocked at that joke.

These customers were not in the right condition to be playing around with money. They are the type who negotiate to get the best price because money is quite tight for them. They used to be my customers turned friends that sometimes just dropped by and have a chit-chat with me. If I would name one thing to describe them, I would not dare come with a commentary on whether these people are smart or not. I just accept them as they are. Sharing good things and sometimes funny things that I would not mind spending some time just to courteously treating my friends nicely. But this joke was undeniably Very Stupid. No, it's not because they could prove that I am sometimes too quick with my hands that sometimes my eyes even miss what my hands are doing. No, not that. They just practically showed to me as if they own a money stamping machine to be doing this which they certainly didn't. I was surprised that in their situation, they still could treat money like that and because of the experiment that they did, they thought it was funny.

I took the poor money and showed to them, "How are you going to use this?" They kept laughing. I just didn't get it. "I think you know I don't like sick money. And you practically add up to the numbers of sick money in Malaysia." Maybe I should feel relieved to see them laughing because it wasn't me who has to lose the money. Because of their joke, they have to fork out the same amount from their wallet and give to me. I still don't get it why they were laughing. Logically, if anyone should laugh that time, it would be me and not them.

Whoever you are, this is really not the way to outsmart other people. Not only that it's NOT SO funny, it's just pity to see people laughing at their own stupidity. Oh boy... don't do it again. If you really want to waste some money, give it to the needies. *Sighs!!!
